As rainwater and melting snow washes over our gardens, sidewalks and streets, it picks up pollutants and trash that ends up in these drains, from where it drains to Poquessing and the Delaware. 

Philadelphia Water Department is working hard to protect Philadelphia waterways by preventing stormwater runoff, but they need our help. By marking storm drains, we are playing an important role in protecting our waterways and letting your friends and neighbors know that only rain belongs down the drain!

Our project is a part of a big Storm Drain Marking Program managed by Philadelphia Water and the Partnership for the Delaware Estuary.
